Текст сообщения: | Adelaide street mag rip it up to finish up the final season. No question, it will have a negative impact on the club's future.
The fact is, the AFL is not yet in a position to do much about it. If you want to do anything about it, you need to go back to the drawing board. The AFL will need to come up with a new system to deal with club funding – something that was abolished several years ago – and change its financial model.
The AFL has been under fire for years for not putting in place a new structure to protect a financially healthy club like the Bombers. It should be a no-brainer.
And let me be clear, I don't think the AFL needs to be reformed. I think it already is.
The Bombers have a fantastic future, and a very good coach in Andrew Swallow. Swallow is the best AFL coach I've ever had the pleasure to coach and I'm 100 per cent in his corner. And he will keep his place next year. But that doesn't change the fact the club has a future as it's currently built now.
The real challenge for the AFL is not to give up on the Bombers, it's to get the current structure put in place to protect them at some point.
I know for a fact it will take the changes, and the funding changes, that will be put in place on August 1 to really turn this club around, so we won't have to worry about it for another two years at the very least.
The AFL will need to change and you can't put more hurdles in its way than it already has by asking them to change the system to fix a problem that has existed for so long.
The problem is, if it can't get the issues dealt with, there's no reason why the AFL should be able to protect the team even if its board doesn't like them.
The way the AFL is operating – a system where one team wins by the most out of any team gets us nowhere. What is it? A system where winning team No.1 is going to win No.6, No.9, No.10 or no.12 depending on the outcome of a draw? Why? Why, in all human history, should the people of this land accept a system that puts the "failing" team No.3 first?
I've done my bit with the AFL by calling on their board, chairperson Matthew Pavlich and the executive to change the game, not only about money, but also about change of direction.
My recommendation is that you work with both the AFL and your fans. Just as I have done with the Essendon fan group, you need to work with people fro

Deputy chief magistrate stands down from dpp tim ellis' fatal manslaughter in police shooting
An internal affairs investigation has been launched into a fatal police shooting that led to a special prosecutor investigating the way the department handled the killing of Darryl Rennard.
At a press conference Tuesday night, Acting Commissioner Mark Pritchard said the matter should be handed over to the grand jury.
"After extensive review of the case, it is with regret that we conclude that an investigation by the Internal Investigations Unit has been launched with the potential to become a criminal matter," he said.
Pritchard said investigators will look into "what happened in the moments leading up to the officer-involved shooting" but stopped short of saying what could be the result of the inquiry.
The killing of Rennard, a 40-year-old father of two, on Thursday, April 6, in a park just blocks away from City Hall was the second fatal police shooting this year in the City of Ottawa.
On April 5, former deputy chief magistrate Andrew Toutlakov shot and killed Andrew McDaniel, who had been arrested for drunken driving. An inquest into the shooting concluded that Toutlakov used excessive force, but the inquest has not yet been completed.
"On a very disturbing day I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Rennard family and all people affected by this tragedy," Pritchard said. "I have spent the last several days in this difficult and difficult place as the public has been informed of this situation.... I am certain that the police are working hard to come to some conclusions, based upon all of the evidence available at this time."
On Saturday afternoon, on orders from the police chief, Pritchard issued the following statement:
"On May 16, 2017, I announced that Assistant Commissioner Mark Elli, the former chief magistrate who initiated the investigation into the shooting of my former colleague, Michael Rennard, as he was leaving the scene of a foot pursuit at about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2017, has been relieved of duty and will step down from his duties within the police force on a permanent basis as I do with any of my senior officers."
"As a result of the tragic event which occurred today, I am announcing the appointment of a new Deputy Chief of Police. Mr. Michael Rennard has been transferred from his position as Deputy Chief magistrate of Ottawa Regional to a position as Associate Commissioner of the Ottawa Police Service."
"I thank all of my officers in all of their various roles over the years, who have worked with me to ensure that this never happened again and I would also like to pay our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Rennard wh
